DEC trail disc markers are used on state forest trails. Trail paint color is used on both state and private trails. Open June 1st to October 1st. Groups of 20 or more require a permit from the local forest ranger.

Trail Miles: Approximately 100
Level of Difficulty: Early Intermediate to Advanced
Horse trails are blazed with plastic circle tabs on trees. Intersections are marked with numbered wooden posts. Trails are closed November 1st to May 1st to horses.
Charles E. Baker is the core of the Brookefield Trail System. Combined with Brookfield Railroad and Beaver Creek State Forests, there is a total of 130 miles of connected trails.

Trail names have brown signs with yellow lettering, Trail markings are color coded as per map.
Horse Camping: Yes
Trailhead Parking: Camping & Assembly areas are located on Chases Lake Road.
5/5/2018 Trail Update
There is a bridge out as indicated below (circled in green). In Late Spring, NY DEC will be removing the remains of the bridge and improving the approaches to the creek to create a more user-friendly stream ford. The trail will remain a horse trail with signage at either end indicating the necessity to ford the stream.
Riders are able to cross the stream at the present time.
